Snackin' on @JJSnackFoods SuperPretzel PretzelDogs

The weather is heating up and the kids' appetites are cuh-razy!  They're in and out of the house, riding bikes, skateboarding, playing soccer, going to the park, they are working up an appetite.  Our friends who have children who have gone through the tween / teen growth spurt warned us that there'd soon come a day when they'd eat us out of house and home and I for one think this must be it.
We received some SuperPretzel PretzelDogs for review.  We've tried SuperPretzels before but I'd never seen the SuperPretzel PretzelDogs on our local store shelf so I was excited to see if it'd conquer the Afterschool Snack Monster.

Comes in a pack of 12, and SuperPretzel PretzelDogs are fully cooked, easy to heat, microwaveable, and fun to eat.  The soft pretzel comes out moist when cooked and the beef hot dogs were juicy and the bread wasn't soggy or hard and crusty after being microwaved.

The twins loved the PretzelDogs but my youngest ones notsomuch.  Then again they're not huge fans of meat right now. Me?  I liked them and even dipped them in some homemade honey mustard.  Yes, they're perfect for dipping.  PretzelDogs would make a great afternoon snack or a quick appetizer.  Found 'em in the freezer section of my local grocery store and snagged a coupon on the website that my local store DOUBLED.  Winning!!!

Firmoo, Where Your First Pair is Always Free Review

Seems like there's no shortage of folks who come to me asking advice on eyeglasses.  I don't wear glasses.  Okay, wayment, there's the pair of readers that I keep on my desk because I'm staring at a brightly lit computer screen for at least 8-10 hours a day.  Count as the lament of a blogger.  Nonetheless, I am grateful for my healthy eyes and try to do what I can to keep them healthy but those who know and love me know I can always find a deal...even on eyewear.

When I first heard that Firmoo offers the first pair free *sans $6.95 shipping* your first thought may be that their eyewear selection is limited but Firmoo has hundreds of styles to choose from in every color under the sun.  Then you might think I have a difficult prescription, surely they don't have my prescription.  If you've got a prescription, Firmoo has got you covered and they even have prescription sunglasses.

A couple of months ago, a friend and I were talking and she told me her husband needed glasses.  I remembered about the Firmoo deal and shared it with her.  He chose the JD1052 in Silver.

Mr. B loved the style and felt these would probably be light enough to wear for long periods of time.  He's a truck driver by trade and since his job which requires him to be on the road for several hours and even days, his eyewear must be comfortable enough to wear for long hours at a time.
Much love to Mr. B for letting his wife
snap this pic of him in his new glasses.

Both Mr. and Mrs. B were pleasantly surprised with the vast selection of eyewear featured on the Firmoo website.  When the order was placed there was one area that was left out on the order form and Firmoo Customer Service phoned to verify the information.  Turns out we entered the Rx information incorrectly.  Glad Firmoo caught our error before processing.

Let's recap:
✓ Wide selection                                             ✓ Easy to order
✓ Affordable                                                   ✓ Easy exchange policy
✓ Excellent Customer Service                           ✓ First pair free

Looking for a quality pair of eyeglasses at an affordable cost, check out Firmoo.

The Big Wedding In Theatres Today

SYNOPSIS:With an all-star cast led by Robert DeNiro, Katherine Heigl, Diane Keaton, Amanda Seyfried, Topher Grace, with Susan Sarandon and Robin Williams, THE BIG WEDDING is an uproarious romantic comedy about a charmingly modern family trying to survive a weekend wedding celebration that has the potential to become a full blown family fiasco.  To the amusement of their adult children and friends, long divorced couple Don and Ellie Griffin (De Niro and Keaton) are once again forced to play the happy couple for the sake of their adopted son's wedding after his ultra conservative biological mother unexpectedly decides to fly halfway across the world to attend. With all of the wedding guests looking on, the Griffins are hilariously forced to confront their past, present and future - and hopefully avoid killing each other in the process. Screenplay by Justin Zackham. Directed by Justin Zackham.

Dressing Up and Having Fun with BuyCostumes.com

One of the things I miss about living in the San Francisco Bay Area is being able to find that perfect outfit for any cultural event.  Nothing like shopping in Berkeley for agbadas, Hayward for kaftans, and San Francisco or Oakland's Chinatown districts for kimonos. Now that hubby and I are living closer to the Midwest, shopping has it's challenges.  Several years ago, a friend turned me on to costume shops to find those one of a kind outfits at a reasonable price.  Costumes? Yes, costumes.

One of my new fave online costume stores is buycostumes.com.  Buycostumes.com has costumes for the entire family and feature some rather exquisite, yet affordable, wares.  Take this Adult Geisha costume I ordered.

Priced at only $26.99 what a great way to make an entrance at last month's Lantern Festival Fundraiser.  The costume came complete with obi belt, chopsticks and a fan.  All eyes were on me and I felt absolutely beautiful.

My girls and I danced the night away and the costume is so nice hubby even asked me to wear it out to dinner one night.  I was a little surprised but had a few people asking me where I bought my lovely kimono and when I told them it was a costume of course, "Oh wow, I never thought of that" was their response.  Thinking out of the box saves money.

I've already got my eyes on one for the little old lady.  I know she'd be absolutely adorable in this Teal Dragon Child's costume and since it's from buycostumes.com not only is is affordable and stylish, but it's adorable.  I should note the pants and shoes don't come with this costume but at $24.99 what a deal.

So, change up your wardrobe and check out buycostumes.com for something special.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Divine Tempest Blog Tour Book Excerpt and Giveaway

A Scholar's Journey The Divine Tempest

A Scholar's Journey: The Divine Tempest

A Scholar’s Journey: The Divine Tempest is a no-holds-barred fantasy brawl. It begins when the God of Justice and Retribution opens The Abyss and unleashes a vengeful demon upon the mortal realm of Therra. Now it is up to scholar Penndarius Greyson and his tormented protector, martial artist Soren Luna Mortalitas, to stop a crisis that would send shockwaves through the very fabric of creation. In addition, Penndarius is waging an internal battle with a disembodied presence attempting to possess his mind. The two heroes must avoid death or capture, but there is a catch: They have only one day to solve a riddle older than history before a dark host of unstoppable demons is released into the world. The Divine Tempest includes warring factions, betrayal and redemption, and of course, Herrick Erickson-Brigl's trademark: epic fight scenes. This is the lean, hard-hitting first installment in a series that follows Penndarius’s growth as the avatar of the God of Creation and Soren’s reclamation of his lethal family’s humanity.

Purchase A Scholar's Journey: The Divine Tempest on Amazon.

Check out book excerpt below.

The kick impacted Craven's face and knocked him to the side. Soren landed on the ground between Craven's arms and spun around into a back stance, holding his hand out. "Come on!" he taunted.
Craven spat out a fang and then punched, trying to hit Soren in the chest. Once again Soren dodged the attack and landed dexterously on Craven's powerful outstretched arm, like a circus performer. He ran up the big arm and vaulted over Craven's shoulder. Then he grabbed Craven's neck, mid-flight, and swung onto the creature's back.
The anthra reached back and attempted to grab Soren's clothing, but he was in an awkward position.
From atop Craven's back, Soren started an assault by punching the anthra repeatedly in the back of his head. Despite Craven's size, the force of Soren's blows caused his head to be thrown forward and rebound back again.
Craven roared in frustration and bent down and violently threw his torso forward, which caused Soren to rise above his neck for the briefest instant. The anthra spun quickly and grabbed Soren by the shirt collar, then used the momentum to slam his body flat into the ground. The breath was expelled from Soren's lungs.
The anthra then followed the slam by attempting to cannonball the crimson warrior toward the same wall that Soren had been thrown through earlier. Craven's arm was so large that, before Soren was catapulted, and despite being partially stunned, he was able to spin his legs around and push off Craven's paw, allowing him to control his flight.
This time Soren did not impact in the same way but flipped toward the wall in full control of his arc. When he neared the wall, Soren reached with his legs and absorbed the impact fully. Then he turned the attack to his advantage by coiling his legs like a spring.
Soren rebounded off the wall and hurled himself toward Craven. He led with his elbow and planted his other hand on the curled fist of the same arm.
The creativity of the attack caught Craven completely off guard, and he was unable to block the hit. The impact from the elbow was as strong as the throw he had used against Soren, multiplied double fold from the rebound off the wall. Craven was hit hard in the jaw, which lifted the anthra completely off his feet and rolled him to the opposite wall.
Soren flipped again and landed with both feet on the ground in the same stance and place where he had started the fight. He closed his right eye in pain as his head pounded painfully. The rest of his body felt like as if had been crushed and expanded at the same time.
"Respect, warrior!" Craven complimented him sincerely as he struggled to his feet. "I did not expect such an attack from you." With a titanic effort, despite being dazed by the attack, he cleared his head by shaking it violently, a testament to his tough constitution.
"The same to you," Soren replied, groaning in pain as he quickly rolled one of his shoulders back into its socket. Then he rushed at Craven to surprise the anthra with a renewed attack.
"That does not work twice," Craven snarled and seemed truly unimpressed. He reached out and caught Soren's flying roundhouse kick in one of his massive paws. The anthra then threw Soren into the air.
Soren's eyes opened wide as he realized what was going to happen next. "Ow...!" he said with a preliminary wince.
Craven started sending a series of uppercuts into Soren's abdomen with his massive fist. The hits were so strong that they propelled Soren into the ceiling, and Craven was tall enough to hit Soren even while he was pressed up against it. Soren uttered painful gasps with each hit.
The first strike sent Soren into the ceiling, and the second caused an indentation. The third caused a spurt of blood to be propelled from his mouth as it created a jagged crater; it pushed the hard wood upward and caused splinters to rain down on the anthra's furred face.
Craven roared in triumph as he struck Soren for a fourth time with one of his massive fists. Suddenly a loud cracking and snapping sound was heard, and for a moment Penndarius was afraid it was coming from Soren's body, but it was the ceiling giving way. The next punch sent Soren flying into the second floor of the building.
Soren was blinded with pain but was aware enough to react and grab hold of the edges of the broken floor of the second-story room. He rolled to the side, just out of reach and sight of Craven. He took a moment to gather himself, then pushed the pain from his mind and focused on the fight.
To Soren's right, a small family of three huddled in fear in the corner. "Sorry about the mess," Soren said and looked back to the ceiling. He saw that the roof was supported by rafters that were long wooden beams, and an idea popped into his head.
Craven grabbed the torn edge of the hole in the ceiling and pushed up and into the room above. When the little family saw him enter, they huddled even closer to one another in horror, though the anthra seemed not even to notice them. But its prey was nowhere to be seen.
While Craven had been clambering through the hole, Soren had jumped up to grab the rafters of the second floor and had suspended himself by his legs, hanging much like a bat. Then he had curled up to the top so that he was hidden from sight.
"Where are you, little warrior? Come out! Your smell lingers," Craven said as he sniffed the air. "I know you are here."
His nose soon drew his eyes to the rafters. He was shocked to find himself looking directly at Soren, who was just a hair's breadth above his head.
"Right here," Soren whispered into Craven's ear, which infuriated the huge anthra, but Craven was slow to react. Soren dropped from the rafters and encircled the anthra's neck tightly with his knees as he flipped behind his back. Soren continued head first past Craven's shoulders. His arms were even with the joints of Craven's knees when his gripping legs stopped him mid-fall.
Soren punched with both of his hands into the soft area at the back of the anthra's knees. Then he squeezed the anthra's neck with his knees and pushed hard with his hands.
The force of the pull and thrust caused the anthra to lose his balance and fall backwards through the hole in the upstairs floor. Soren continued to pull and thrust and was able to flip Craven a complete hundred-and-eighty degrees, so that he overbalanced and was falling head first toward the ground.
Craven drilled face-first into the wooden floor with a resounding crash. The giant anthra hit hard enough to send ripples from the impact throughout the first floor, which caused neighboring floorboards to bend and break. The rest of the structure groaned in protest and threatened to collapse.
The almost suicidal attack hurt Soren, as well. When they hit the ground he was thrown from the anthra and into a wall, then rebounded with a loud popping sound from his shoulder. He collapsed to the ground and rolled onto his back.

Check out the 3rd release from Disney's Hit show, Shake It Up featuring Bella Thorne and Zendaya!

Our Thoughts:  J, the middle of Los Tres Amigos, watches Shake It Up every week so I was aware of the show plus the featured artists frequent Radio Disney on our radio dial. I  love the Coco Jones' "Holla at the DJ" track.  However, "Contagious Love" and "Beat of My Drum" seem to be favorites among the kids.  I ">"Heart 3 Dance is an "enhanced CD" which means if you insert the CD into your computer you can access some really cool extras.

Although the CD is for tweens and teens, it's one of those CDs the entire family can listen to.  There's a great mix of pop, hip hop, and dance tracks to get the family moving and grooving.

Track Listing:

1. Contagious Love (Zendaya and Bella Thorne)
2. This Is My Dance Floor (Bella Thorne and Zendaya)
3. Beat of My Drum (Zendaya)
4. Blow the System (Bella Thorne)
5. Afterparty (Roshon Fegan and Caroline Sunshine)
6. Holla at the DJ (The DJ Mike D Remix) (Coco Jones)
7. These Boots Are Made for Walkin (Olivia Holt)
8. Sharp as a Razor (McClain Sisters)
9. Future Sounds Like Us (Dove Cameron)
10. I Can Do Better (Young LA)
11. Shake It Up Theme Song (Cole Plante Reboot Remix) (Selena Gomez)
12. We're Dancing (Alex Ghenea 3.0 Remix) (Bridgit Mendler)

Moms, Dads, and Grads and a Tiny Prints Giveaway and an Awesome Kid I Know #SPONSORED

About five years ago, a family moved in next door.  There was a mom, dad and two boys.  My sons were so excited to finally have someone to play with in the neighborhood.  In fact, Los Tres Amigos were the only boys on our street for the first 2-3 years we lived there.  Now granted the boys next door were a few years older than mine, it was nice to have someone to ride bikes and skateboard with.  Although it doesn't seem like that long ago, it's hard to believe that "D" is graduating high school this year.

Keep reading to check out my review and find giveaway details!

He is the sweetest kid.  Each morning when he saw us loading up the car heading to school and work, he would sprint over and says "Good morning".  If I was in the car, he would gently tap on the window.  Wait til I rolled it down a tad and then give me his usual morning greeting.  Come to think of it, I miss those "Good morning" greetings.  I've never seen that kid have a bad day.  He's ALWAYS smiling!  I remember the first day they moved in.  "D" saw my boys playing outside and came over and asked my oldest son "Do you like Beyonce?"  Heckuva conversation starter huh?  It was funny given my sons were like 6-7 years old and had no clue who Beyonce was.  Now, look at him all grown up and getting ready to graduate high school.

Now that "D" and his brother are in high school, I don't see them as much as I used to.  Yet, he always shows up for our annual backyard barbecue and he will greet the kids on their birthdays.  He's just a great kid and I know his parents are really proud of him.  I know we are.  When Tiny Prints offered me the chance to receive cards in exchange for sharing my thoughts on their Moms, Dads and Grads product lines, I knew exactly who I wanted to share these cards with.

"D" family recently suffered the loss of two loved ones.  It really has been quite a tough month for his mom having lost her sister and another loved one.  She's had to travel back and forth to her hometown several times and has not had time to prepare for "D"'s upcoming high school graduation.  I'm sure a gift from Tiny Prints would be a welcomed gift and I'm glad to have the opportunity to share.  Tiny Prints offers great products and I have written posts about them several times before.  I use my Tiny Prints business cards to promote Three Boys and an Old Lady blog wherever I go.

Tiny Prints offers tons of personalized gifting options perfect for moms, dads and grads.  Whether it's a personalized greeting card or invitation, a coffee mug or an iPhone case.  Suh-weet!

Thanks to Tiny Prints, I have the opportunity to share a graduation gift to one of the most fab seniors I know plus a giveaway for you!
