My Thoughts:  I am looking forward to the upcoming release of the latest in The Hobbit movies and was eager to review this book.  I've always felt there were spiritual undertones in the books and delving into Ware's Finding God in the Hobbit further cemented my beliefs.  Ware parallels the biblical with the fictional and does it in such a manner that will have you wishing you had a copy of the books right there to verify for yourself.  His dissects several chapters of the beloved novel with great precision.  Overall a well written, off the beaten path analysis of a classic.

I spoke with our dog's vet before making the switch and she told me she'd heard good things about the product.  She used the black light that came with the BzzKit to check his teeth.  I'm happy to report very little tartar was present, which was good considering it'd been nearly a year since his last cleaning.  After nearly two months of feeding him Eukanuba we returned to his vet last week and guess what - HIS TEETH STILL LOOK GREAT!  

As far as the taste of Eukanuba with 3D DentaDefense well, not so much a fan.  Perhaps it's because he has been eating his current brand of dog food for years now.  The gradual introduction was a wise way to introduce the new food, but when it was Eukanuba alone, I noticed he waited a while before eating.  You know the dog that takes a single piece of dog food out the bowl, walks into another room and then comes back to the food bowl to grab yet another single piece of dog food and repeat until it's all gone.  Yeah, that.  That's our dog.  

We will continue to monitor his teeth using the black light and be on the lookout for any noticeable tartar build up and will probably return to Eukanuba with 3D DentaDefense as a preventative health measure.

My Thoughts: Author Shannon Ethridge does a good job discussing those things we often shy away from discussing in our church communities.  With the huge success of books like Fifty Shades of Grey we'd be naive to believe nary a churchgoer has delved into the pages of the lustful work of fiction.  I'm sure The Fantasy Fallacy would make for interesting conversation in Couples and Singles ministries.  Ofttimes when the discussion of sex comes up, we try to divert discussing taboo subjects like sexual desire and fantasies. 

Ethridge is candid and uses her research and personal experiences to encourage readers to look at fantasy from a believer's point of view.  A futile attempt at a conversation which has been a taboo subject in churches for generations.  Yet, sales of erotica continue to rise.  Books about erotica continue to top the bestseller lists.  I say, let's talk about it and try to understand  The Fantasy Fallacy will continue to be published.

My Thoughts:  If you didn't check out the initial installment of The Tiny Book of Tiny Stories, after reading the second installment, you will definitely want to check out the book that started the whole craze.  Joseph Gordon-Levitt (yes, THAT Joseph Gordon-Levitt) has assembled a delightfully, snarky read.  Cleverly illustrated, each "story" is best read and absorbed, but The Tiny Book of Tiny Stories is one of those books you read from cover to cover again and again. The Tiny Book of Tiny Stories is filled with creative word play and just enough snark to make you laugh a little.

Our Home the Ooh La La Coffeehouse Thanks to #Torani

So SheSpeaks gave me the opportunity to sample Torani syrups and share the news about the Torani Holiday Cheers Contest!  Torani syrups are those flavored syrups you see in all the trendy coffeehouses.  Creating fab holiday drinks for your guests is easy breezy with Torani.  Just add a splash to your favorite coffee, tea, sparkling water or whatever you're drinking and voila you've got something totally new. I made the best hot chocolate by adding a splash of Torani Sugar Free Pumpkin Pie syrup.  Delicious and way less expensive than the $5 supremo sized mocha choca latte da da at the ooh la la fancy schmancy coffeehouse.  I even topped it with a little whipped cream.   Everyone knows Torani syrups are perfect for beverages but I  decided to try a little something different with the Torani syrups I received.  It actually turned out to be one of my most tastiest mistakes to date.  I prepared my pound cake as normal and decided rather than top it with lemon icing, the Torani Sugar Free Salted Caramel syrup sounded like a delicious idea.   So, I melted a cup of sugar, added 2 tablespoons of the syrup and it foamed like candy.   Added a splash of Torani Sugar Free Salted Caramel Syrup Stirred and stirred... and stirred and stirred some more... The aroma was amazing!  Just imagine buttery, sweet warmth, ooey-gooey goodness.   Then I poured it all over the cake. Don't let the baked beauty fool ya.  As it cooled it hardened much like a caramel topping for a caramel apple.  Oops!   I later learned a little milk would have given me the icing texture I wanted.  So, we ended up with a delicious cake with an unexpected caramel topping.   To my surprise my family loved it (or at least they said they did).  Hubby, well after we finished laughing at my baking mistake, he asked me to make the caramel again but made me promise I'd wrap them as candies rather than top any more pound cakes with the topping.   Torani syrups are a great way to express your creativity.  With so many flavors to choose from, our taste buds are in for a workout.  I am looking forward to trying more Torani vanillas, fruity fruit flavored syrups, nutty-licious nut flavors and the seasonal flavors.
