Noxicare Natural Pain Relief Cream Review

Every now and then I get a little ache or pain and reach for a tried and true pain relief cream.  Granted the product provides the temporary relief I'm looking for, the only problem is the odor.  YUK! The price we pay to find relief.  There are a few other pain relief creams on the market claiming to be odorless but they never seem to provide the relief I need.  I was offered the opportunity to sample Noxicare Natural Pain Relief.

Noxicare is "a breakthrough natural, patented pain relief formula that is a proprietary combination of 7 of the world's most potent natural pain relievers that quickly and effectively alleviate inflammation, muscle aches and nerve pain - with NO known side effects and without a prescription."

My Thoughts:  I received a full size 3.5 fl. oz. tube of Noxicare Pain Relief Cream.  After a long walk with the family, I was a little achy so I decided to try Noxicare.  The scent was pleasant and the texture was nice and creamy.  Not as thick and oily as some other pain relief creams I've used, which I actually loved.  It was easy to apply and massage onto my tired legs.  Oh, I should probably share that I had hiked, nearly 3 miles, uphill,  with the youngest of Los Tres Amigos and his best friend and my calf muscles were really sore after our afternoon excursion so I was glad to have Noxicare on hand.

As far as the pain relief was concerned I didn't notice much "relief".  *sigh*  Perhaps I expected immediate relief or have grown too accustomed to a heating or cooling sensation with the pain relief creams I've used before.  Or perhaps, the Noxicare needed a bit more time to alleviate my discomfort.  After a little massaging of my calf muscle, the discomfort was gone.  I won't say the relief came solely from Noxicare, but I will say the massaging action of rubbing in the Noxicare Pain Relief Cream may have provided relief.

Hubby, on the other hand, loves the stuff.  He walks 4-6 miles daily and plays a couple games of basketball each afternoon after work.  Occasionally, he experiences a little discomfort and was glad we had the Noxicare on hand.  No mess.  No medicine odor.  Not greasy.  He liked it.

Overall, a mixed review.  I loved the scent and the lotion-y texture and concur Noxicare Pain Relief Cream is perfect for massaging tired, achy muscles.

Simply Delicious Amish Cooking Booksneeze Book Review

Book Description
Unbeknownst to many folks outside the Amish Mennonite population in America, Pinecraft, Florida - a village tucked away in the heart of Sarasota - is the vacation paradise of the Plain People. Unlike any other Plain community in the world, this village is a virtual melting pot of Amish and Mennonites from around the world, intermingled with people, like author Sherry Gore’s family, who live there year-round. Gore has put together a cookbook that represents the people who make Pinecraft unique. With hundreds of easy-to-prepare recipes, 16 full-color photographs and black-and-white photographs throughout, this cookbook includes traditional favorites such as Sweet Potato Sweet Mash and Mrs. Byler’s Glazed Donuts, as well as Florida favorites including Fried Alligator Nuggets, Grilled Lime Fish Fillets, and Strawberry Mango Smoothies. Interspersed with the recipes are true-life stories about births, engagements, weddings, deaths, funerals, celebrations, wildlife encounters, and accidents told through years of Sherry’s Letters from Home column published in The Budget, the Amish newspaper. This delightful cookbook offers readers a faith-based, family-focused perspective of the simple way of life of the Plain People. It is truly a breath of fresh air from Sarasota, Florida!

My Thoughts:
There's an Amish community just outside the small town in Kentucky where I was born. Oftentimes, when I was older during visits home to see my grandma, I would visit the local Amish markets for samplings of homemade jams and jellies. Simply good food, nothing complicated here.

The recipes contained in Gore's Simply Delicious Amish Cooking are simple, yet speak to years of tradition and international flavors.  I love to cook and enjoy collecting cookbooks.  Many of the cookbooks in my collection feature recipes which call for a trip to the grocery store.  However, that's not the case with this cookbook.  Tons of easy to make recipes straight out your pantry.

Check out this easy to bake corn bread recipe.  I've tried it and it's easy breezy and delicious too.

Bathsheba Bathed in Grace Booksneeze Book Review

Book Description
Adultery, lies, deception, scandal, murder, cover-up, heartache, pain, and loss—stories with these sordid elements are relevant today. And women with shady pasts—labeled, shamed, and linked with tragedies—are part of our heritage. Bathsheba, a victim or temptress, Eve outside of Eden, Tamar posed as a prostitute, Leah stole her sister Rachel’s fiancé…Sarah gave Hagar to her husband and Rebekah masterminded a grave deception. How well do you really know the women of the Bible?
My Thoughts:  The stories of these women of the Bible reads better than most bestselling novels.  Full of romance, deception, hope and lies, you'll find yourself tuned in as if you were watching your favorite reality tv show. I loved every single moment of this page turning drama.  Each story retells that of a prolific woman in the Bible giving readers a glimpse of her story.  Yes, the author could have expounded more on the lives of the women in the story, but she gives you just enough to make you want to read more about their stories in your Bible.

Very quick read but one which will peak your interest in the lives of the women portrayed throughout this wonderful read.

My home is full of stuff.  Stuff I insure because it has some value to me and my family.  Funny given when we moved from our upstate California home on September 10, 2001, the only stuff we brought was what we loaded into our SUV.  Stuff we thought was valuable enough to bring with us to our new home.  Now we have a house full of stuff.  Every now and then we clear out some stuff that we don't need anymore but it never fails we still have a lot of stuff.  Don't really think much about our stuff until it's broken, lost or misplaced.

Last week our friends lost all of their stuff.  They moved to Moore, Oklahoma a few years ago when the wife accepted a job transfer.  They sold their home.  Loaded up a truck filled with stuff they valued and headed off to start their new life.  When the Oklahoma struck their home, the children were at school, the wife at work and our dear friend, was at home enjoying a day off.  Our friend rode the storm out sheltered in a bathroom closet.  When the storms ended, he came out only to see his house crumbled all around him and all their stuff...gone.  House.  Cars.  Clothes. Pictures.  Everything.  All their stuff.  Gone.

When hubby and I heard of the storms, we immediately tried to reach our friends to make sure they were safe.  Our calls went unanswered for days.  It wasn't until a family member saw our loved on a national syndicated morning news show that our fears were relieved.  Our loved ones were safe.  Last week, we spoke with our friends and we laughed.  Turns out he lost his phone while riding out the tornado.  A small loss considering the devastation and loss caused by the ravaging tornado.  Yet, amidst the loss of all their stuff, they smiled.  Having lost every single THING they'd work for these past few years...they smiled because when all is said and done, it's not about things.  They were fortunate, the entire family was safe.  Things can be replaced, family cannot.

I love this Allstate Good Life commercial.  In the commerical Allstate reminds us of the perils we face every single day.  Risks are EVERYWHERE.  Trips, slips and falls.  Crashes, smashes and dings and dents.  Things happen, but don't let fear and doubt keep you from enjoying the wonderful gift that is life.

Have you ever had to start over?  Was it due to a weather-related disaster?  I'd love to hear all about how you started your new path to your new good life.  Leave your comments below.

Our Thoughts:  The little "Old Lady" and the Littlest One love Bubble Guppies.  I get the biggest kick out of watching them watch episodes on TV.  When the Littlest One noticed the DVD box sitting on the table, he grabbed it and brought it to me saying "Let's watch this Auntie".  ADORABLE.  The dynamic duo sat down and watched the entire dvd while parking Hot Wheels cars and playing with Dora the Explorer.  The best part was something in one of the episodes just tickled them so and both burst out in laughter.  I didn't get it, but couldn't stop laughing at just how funny whatever it was that tickled them so.

Buy It:  Bubble Guppies: Sunny Days! is available at most online retailers including Amazon and in retail stores including Walmart and Target.  We found the DVD on sale at Walmart for less than $11.

A Better Night's Sleep Thanks to the #ZzzQuilNight Challenge #spon

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of ZzzQuil for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

I have been so busy this month with work, church, school and life that lately when I lay me down to sleep, my mind is racing and I can't sleep.  I know the importance of a good night's rest but every now and then it's difficult for me to fall asleep.  I've seen so many commercials for sleep aids (prescription and non-prescription) and wondered if they worked, but being too chicken to try them fearing addiction.  ZzzQuil is perfect for folks like me who suffer from occasional bouts of sleeplessness.

ZzzQuil is:

  • available over the counter
  • Non-habit forming
  • Available in liquid or liquicaps

I received a full size bottle of ZzzQuil from SocialSpark for review and it couldn't have arrived at a better time.  Between work, kids, church and everything else, my Spring schedule is crazy filled with lots of early mornings and late nights.  You'd think I would be so tired that I'd have no problem falling asleep, but *sigh* such is not the case.  I admit I was afraid to try a full dose of ZzzQuil, so I opted for a half dose.  Guess what?  1/2 dose with perfect for me.

I fell asleep quickly and woke up ready for the day.

A few nights later I tried a full dose and I must be a medicine lightweight because I woke up feeling groggy.  Sort of that feeling you get when you first wake from anesthesia.  ZzzQuil contains Diphenhydramine HCL, a non-habit forming ingredient proven to help you sleep but you may want to start with a half dose to see how your body reacts before trying a full dose.

I typically don't purchase liquid medications.  I prefer pills so I may try the liquicaps next time.  However, the ZzzQuil didn't taste bad and it felt soothing and warm.  You can find ZzzQuil wherever you purchase over the counter medications.
