My Thoughts: This is NOT a retelling of the classic we've come to know and love. The movie screenplay and book is filled with those familiar characters we've come to know and love over the years but I devoured this book and wanted more. I have loved the movie since I was a kid and believe the remake of this classic tale will be a hit. I remember my grandma had the LP Album and I would listen to the songs over and over again singing into my microphone, okay it was a hairbrush, but nonetheless the best mic ever. Millner's adaptation of this classic story is one of family, empowerment, and love sure to warm your heart and leave you wanting more.
Author Denene Millner has penned 20 books and that's quite a feat. She is the author of Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man which reigned as a best selling book and movie for several weeks and I'm sure Sparkle will also be a bestseller. This is a MUST read!
